Terms of Service
Last updated: April 11, 2026
1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing, or using Breuzel ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. What Breuzel is
Breuzel is a macOS voice dictation application that uses your own third-party API keys (Groq) to transcribe speech to text. Breuzel is a tool — it does not process, store, or transmit your API keys or audio recordings.
The App connects your Mac directly to third-party AI providers (Groq, Anthropic) using credentials you supply. You are responsible for the usage and costs associated with those third-party API keys.
3. Eligibility
You must be 18 years or older and capable of forming a binding contract to use Breuzel. The App is intended for personal and professional productivity use by individual users on macOS.
4. Account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must notify us immediately at security@breuzel.com if you suspect unauthorised access. We may suspend accounts that are inactive for 24 months.
5. Subscriptions and payments
Monthly subscriptions are billed in advance each month. Lifetime licenses are one-time payments. All payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store payment card details.
Refunds: Monthly subscriptions may be cancelled at any time; you retain access until the end of the billing period. We offer a 14-day refund for first-time purchases if the App does not function as described on your hardware. Lifetime licenses are refundable within 30 days of purchase.
Third-party API costs (Groq, Anthropic) are your responsibility and are billed directly by those providers. Breuzel has no liability for those charges.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Breuzel to:
- Transcribe content that is illegal in your jurisdiction
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent usage limits of third-party APIs in violation of their terms
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or redistribute the App without our permission
- Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
7. Intellectual property
The Breuzel application, website, and branding are owned by Breuzel. Your dictated content is yours. We claim no rights over text you produce using the App.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
Breuzel is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, that transcription will be perfectly accurate, or that service will be uninterrupted. Transcription accuracy depends on the third-party API providers you choose to use.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Breuzel's aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid to Breuzel in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages.
10. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account for material breach of these terms, with or without notice. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at hello@breuzel.com. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of The Netherlands. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Amsterdam, Netherlands.
12. Changes to terms
We will give you at least 14 days' notice of material changes by email and in-app notification. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
